Job Goal

Responsible to the Athletic Director and/or a head coach; provides coaching, development, and supervisory responsibilities of an athletic program

Job Description: Essential Position Functions
  • Valid Colorado teaching license preferred or ASEP certification or NFHS Coaching Fundamentals Certification*

  • High school tennis coaching experience or equivalent playing experience*

  • Team management and practice organization*

  • Maintain proper health and safety practices*

  • Plan and implement summer and off-season program*

  • Supervise and evaluate assistant coaches*

  • Purchase and care of all equipment*

  • Work with assigned budget*

  • Directly responsible to athletic director and follows the rules and regulations of the school, the school district and the Colorado High School Activities Association

  • Reports consistently for work as scheduled
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Attains proficient or higher evaluations on established Performance Standards
  • Actively seeks feedback from supervisor(s) and/or colleagues
  • Communicates high expectations for athlete behavior and reinforces expectations
  • Communicates regularly with the Athletic Director
  • Consistently meets responsibilities in a timely manner regarding fiscal management
  • Consistently seeks professional growth and learning
  • Demonstrates a solid knowledge of the sport, the policies, rules, and game management strategies.

  • Plans for daily, weekly, monthly, and annual character development of all athlete/athletes in the program
  • Produces practice plans that are detailed and assist with the advancement of individual skills progression and and strategy development
  • Regularly pursues appropriate professional learning activities
  • Rosters, transportation requests, certifications are handed in prior to deadlines.
  • Supervises all facilities and athletes before, during, and after practices and competitions

Work Environment:

  • The noise level in the work environment may alternate among quiet, moderate, and loud.

Physical Demands:

  • Sits, stands, walks, stoops, kneels, and crouches/squats while performing duties
  • Has oral and auditory capacity enabling interaction inter-personally and/or through communication devices
  • Uses eyes, hands, and finger coordination enabling the use of equipment and writing utensils
  • Typical demands require staff to lift and carry up to 20 pounds, and may be higher for some assignments depending on position and student need; climb stairs, ladders, and/or stools; reach, hold, grasp and turn objects; use fingers to operate computer keyboards; feel the shape, size and temperature of objects

All custodial positions require the ability to lift 50 pounds and to push/pull burdens up to 100 pounds.

All special education positions require the ability to safely lift 50 pounds each in a two person lift.
