Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) delivers consultative and/or direct behavior analytic services to meet the individual needs of students and provides support to special education and general education staff in order to improve student access to instruction, behavioral skills and academic achievement.

  • Reports consistently for work as scheduled

  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Attains proficient or higher evaluations on established Performance Standards

  • Assists teams in conducting functional behavioral assessments for individual students in accordance with Federal and State laws and regulations. Monitor and track progress to ensure positive outcomes for students

  • Assists teams in the collection and organization of data and prepare a variety of reports for the purpose of documenting case history, assessments, and treatment

  • Attends staff meetings and committee meetings as needed

  • Collaborates with the Special Education Facilitators in coordinating, implementing, supervising, and evaluating the development of special education initiatives

  • Compiles Special Education information into reports for parent groups and other audiences-analyzing and evaluating the data to participate in decision making for behavioral health of students in District

  • Coordinates staff activities and professional development/training to make program improvements and implements new efforts on a district-wide, systemic level

  • Creates and assists district staff with the development and implementation of behavior intervention plans and other appropriate programs for students who present behavior/learning challenges. Serve as a resource for information regarding laws, regulations, and procedures related to applied behavior analysis, special education, and behavior

  • Designs programming and provides case management for individual students

  • Designs, develops, and implements behavioral supports and services rooted in ABA methodology for district staff and students

  • Develops materials and provides resources for district staff using evidence-based methodologies, such as Applied Behavior Analysis, related to addressing the needs of students

  • Participates in referral decisions with the Special Education Leadership Team

  • Provides consultation and direct service to building programs and students

  • Provides direct supervision to RBTs employed by the district and graduate students pursing BCBA certification. Supervision is provided according to Behavior Analyst Certification Board requirements in order to maintain individual supervision, as well as to ensure high quality services, to improve overall program efficiency and functioning

  • Provides district-wide consultation and leadership to programs on educational programing and instruction, behavior intervention, special education process, and data-based decision making


  • Advanced oral and written communication, presentation/training, critical thinking, problem solving, organizational, and supervisory/management skills

  • In-depth knowledge of content area

  • Knowledge of and experience in Professional Learning Communities

  • Knowledge of classroom management and conflict resolution

  • Knowledge of State and Federal laws and regulations governing Special Education, school systems and programs including current trends in education methods for students with exceptional needs such as ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis), Functional Behavior Assessment and Intervention Development, Positive Behavior Supports, Multitiered System of Support, research-based approaches to discipline, and other methodologies

  • Monitors student behaviors and progress

  • Provides analysis of assessment results, and designs and implements interventions using ABA methodology for students with behavioral needs

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s (Baccalaureate) degree (e.g., B.A., A.B., B.S.)

  • Master’s degree in behavior analysis, special education, psychology, or related field

  • BCBA or BCBA-D credential

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ Years Experience providing direct behavioral services to children ages 3-21

  • Some Experience providing supervision to BCBA candidates, BCaBAs, and RBTs
