02/06/2023The Digital Communication Specialist is an integral member of the Department for Communication. The position requires an energetic and strategic communicator who has a strong understanding of web and digital communications and can juggle multiple responsibilities with numerous deliverables. Specifically, this position is responsible for creating, monitoring, and evaluating content, both written and graphic, for the district website and its 40 school websites. Additionally, the position is responsible for collaborating on the district’s digital advertising efforts and social media efforts.

Written & Visual Communication
Researches, collects, curates and creates engaging original content.
Publishes content for the district website and its 40 school websites.
Manages and creates visual assets for all web communication.
Tracks web metrics and develops regular monitoring reports.
Makes presentations to various stakeholder groups.
Strategize ways to organically grow the district and school digital audiences.
Creates and implements a web content editorial calendar.
Branding
Creates content that meets both district and school brand requirements.
Monitors district and school web assets to ensure brand standards are met.
Customer/Client Relations
Provides in-person and virtual web content trainings.
Provides in-person and virtual social media trainings.
Forges authentic, trusting relationships across the district and community.
Social Media & Advertising
Co-creates social media posts and strategies.
Co-creates digital marketing campaign copy and strategies.
Monitors success of campaigns and postings.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree public relations, journalism, organizational communication, advertising, marketing, or technical communication.
Up to 3 Years Professional experience creating content for a business or non-profit website
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, both application and cloud-based collaboration platforms
Expertise with Website Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices, Google Analytics operation
Mastery of current web-based technologies
Experience with the Adobe creative suite or similar platforms
Experience with website content management systems (CMS) and digital marketing tools
Preferred Qualifications:
3-5 Years of experience in communication, branding, marketing, advertising, journalism, or technical communication
Proven track record of creating successful and impactful digital communication tactics.
Experience working in or with education (K-12 or Higher Ed)
Experience working in or with a Marketing, Communication of Advertising Departments
Compensation Range:
$52,740-$62,740(Based on job relevant experience at 100% FTE)
