Academy District 20 (ASD20), founded in 1957, serves more than 25,000 students in northern Colorado Springs. A growing district, ASD20 added approximately 7,000 students in the past 15 years, and anticipates adding 5,000 in the next 10 years. With 32 schools, including 18 elementary schools, one K-8 online school, six middle schools and seven high schools, the district is considered, "The Peak of Excellence." For seven consecutive years, the district has been Accredited with Distinction by the Colorado Department of Education and thanks to the overwhelming support of its constituency, the ASD20 passed a $230 million bond measure in 2016. The bond funds will provide improvements to each school and also build two new elementary schools, one new middle school and a learning and innovation center.

Provides dynamic leadership under the direction of the principal in the school by creating educational options which lead to academic growth and achievement for all students through a thorough knowledge of curriculum, instruction, assessment, supervision and evaluation, staff professional learning, community engagement, and positive school culture; implements a student-focused vision and collaborative leadership style to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of all students.

- Regularly updates his/her knowledge of federal and state laws, and school district and board policies, and establishes processes to ensure that these policies and laws are consistently met and implemented
- Reports to the principal regarding the needs of the school/program with respect to curriculum, instruction, assessment, staff, budget/resources, facilities, etc.
- Solicits input and collaborates with staff and his/her school community to implement strategies for change and improvements using change models that result in improved achievement and developmental outcomes for all students
- Stays current with educational trends, research, and best practices
- Strives to improve the profession by collaborating with colleagues, school district leadership and other stakeholders to drive the development and successful implementation of initiatives that better serve students, teachers and schools at all levels of the education system; ensures that these initiatives are consistent with federal and state laws, school district and board policies
- Supervises and evaluates all curricular and extracurricular activities and programs

- Takes responsibility for ensuring that all students are progressing toward postsecondary and workforce readiness standards to be mastered by high school graduation; prepares students for success by ensuring mastery of all Colorado Academic Standards, including 21st Century skills
- Takes responsibility for facilitating the preparation of students with the skills, dispositions and attitudes necessary for success in work and postsecondary education, including democratic and civic participation
- Understands the educational needs of the students and uses the flexibility permitted in the staffing design to provide instructional programs to meet those needs

The district offers a comprehensive compensation package. Placement is dependent upon experience at Administrative Salary Level H with a starting salary of $74,618. The district also offers a supplemental stipend, medical benefits, life insurance, and salary benefit dollars if an individual chooses not to take the medical benefits plan.
