Free and Reduced Meal Registrar maintains the Free and Reduced-Price Meal Applications for the School District’s NSLP and Non-NSLP schools. They perform clerical and secretarial duties in support of the district administration.

  • Reports consistently for work as scheduled

  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Attains proficient or higher evaluations on established Performance Standards

  • Answers telephone, provides information to callers, takes messages, forwards phone calls as appropriate; greets visitors to building courteously, determines their needs and provide information and/or direction

  • Completes Direct Certification Agreement for CDE

  • Composes routine correspondence, reports, and update lists

  • Maintains and processes applications with the On-line Application process through the parent portal

  • Maintains calendars, including the Master Calendar

  • Maintains various databases, reports, and office filing systems

  • Opens, sorts, and distributes incoming mail, and prepares outgoing mail as required

  • Performs a variety of duties using various types of office equipment

  • Performs CDE On-Site Reviews (This consist of visiting all schools participating in the NSLP and NSB programs once a year.  The purpose of these visits is to make sure our kitchens are in compliance and that all students (not just F & R) are receiving a reimbursable meal.)

  • Performs Free and Reduced Meal Price Application Verification process

  • Performs office administration and/or secretarial duties as needed

  • Prepares and processes reports, which require research, computations, and compilation

  • Processes and maintains Free and Reduced-Price Meal Applications for all the District 20 schools participating in the Free and Reduced Meal Program and processes the Family Economic Surveys for the four non-participating schools/programs.  Make determinations as to eligibility using USDA Guidelines. Input qualified data into computer system that provides each school with the needed information to pull student rosters through Infinite Campus

  • Receives and uploads the District’s monthly Claims to CDE

  • Responds to inquires with school staff and parents regarding determinations of applications

  • Runs Direct Certification program, prints report and checks errors on report (Mandatory pull four times a year and/or when needed)

  • Sends reminder letters for fall grace period expiration to households through the Infinite Campus parent portal and personal emails

  • Sets up, files, and sorts a variety of documents, to include confidential information

  • Works with a variety of PC Software to generate computer output and reports related to Free and Reduced-Price Meal Applications

  • Ability to perform routine bookkeeping and clerical accounting

  • Ability to process Free and Reduced meal price applications efficiently

  • Ability to work cooperatively with others

  • Ability to work independently on major assignments

  • Considerable knowledge of computer equipment and related software utilized within the office

  • Considerable knowledge of modern office methods and procedures, spelling, punctuation, and grammar

  • Knowledge of Free and Reduced meal price Guidelines and Regulations

  • Knowledge of laws, rules, regulations, and procedures related to building operations

  • Knowledge of record keeping and filing techniques

  • Strong communication skills

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

Required Qualifications:

High school graduate -high school diploma or equivalent, Secretarial, Office Management, and/or Business Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Adobe and MS Office software, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Teams, Infinite Campus Experience in a Support or End User Role, Secretarial, Office Management, and/or Business Experience in Educational Setting, Spanish
