Performs duties associated with the maintenance and repair of building structures, associated systems, and equipment through proficient and knowledgeable skills in the area of plumbing, both on commercial and residential scales; most incumbents have this specialized area of expertise, but can provide assistance in all areas of building maintenance

Incumbent must meet pre-employment drug and alcohol testing requirements; subject to random drug and alcohol testing, including reasonable suspicion.

  • Ensures that all safety rules and regulations are followed to prescribed measures
  • Fixes line leaks, coil leaks, and pipe related problems
  • Fixes steam traps and condensation pumps
  • Fixes water leaks; repairs joints, connections, and receptacles
  • Installs, repairs and inspects gas piping, water heaters, and vents; installs and maintains related joints, connections, and other devices
  • Maintains clean and efficient operating work area and district equipment to include vehicles
  • Performs duties associated with building repairs and remodeling including plumbing work, repair and maintenance on district facilities; including fixing drains, sinks, stools, urinals, and related sewage systems, and fixtures
  • Performs installations and repairs in manner consistent with uniform state and local plumbing codes to ensure protection of water system
  • Performs related emergency repairs as needed
  • Plans and performs minor plumbing repairs to the facilities and reports major discrepancies
  • Prepares and enters records of work performed and parts used on all district equipment repaired
  • Prepares work orders/solves maintenance problems before they become emergencies
  • Provides assistance in resolving technical problems
  • Reads and interprets service and parts manuals
  • Repairs and replaces parts and fixtures related to steam and hot water heat system
  • Repairs interior and exterior sump pumps
  • Responds to all service breakdowns and work orders as required

  • Has oral and auditory capacity enabling interaction interpersonally and/or through communication devices

  • Lifts or carries burdens weighing up to 50 lbs., and pushes and/or pulls other burdens weighing 100 lbs.
  • Has visual capacity enabling safe operation of tools and machinery
  • Conducts activities involving climbing, stooping, kneeling/bending, crouching/squatting, crawling, twisting, and reaching utilizing a ladder or a lift
  • Works with arms and hands extended at shoulder height or higher with a weight up to 50 lbs.

Required Qualifications:

Backflow Certification - Colorado Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), Colorado Driver's License - Department of Revenue - Division of Motor Vehicles, High school graduate -high school diploma or equivalent, Journeyman Plumber License - Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) Colorado
