Provides daily planning, organization, administration, and evaluation of transportation services to ensure maximum operational efficiencies; monitor routes for economy and safety; provide safe, efficient, courteous, customer-oriented regular education or special needs transportation to and from school and related activities; assists with training as directed. This is a position where bus driving may be required.
Incumbent must meet all requirements of local, state, and federal regulations for controlled substance testing including pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, and random drug and alcohol testing.
The preferred candidate for this position will be bilingual, speaking Spanish and English.

- Reports consistently for work as scheduled

- Attains proficient or higher evaluations on established Performance Standards
- Analyzes, forecasts, and simulates routing scenarios for future school years
- Assures compliance with procedures, policies, schedules, timelines, etc. within the automated routing application
- Communicates with schools and others regarding applicable routing policies and procedures
- Coordinates with appropriate staff on all route processing
- Helps with the coordination of data quality across all databases within the automated routing subsystems
- Maintains an ongoing familiarity with bus load factors, actual transit times, dispatching activity and reporting procedures, and all safety procedures
- Maintains an ongoing knowledge of changes to road networks and traffic patterns in and around the district
- Meets the essential functions for Bus Driver when operating in that capacity
- Monitors routes for economy and safety
- Plans, designs, and determines routing requirements using the most cost efficient and effective methods
- Possesses and maintains an acceptable driving record
- Provides daily planning, organization, and evaluation of transportation services to ensure maximum operational efficiencies
- Provides for the care, safety, daily upkeep, and efficient routing of school transportation vehicles in accordance with approved transportation boundaries and required time frames
- Qualifies for district's Vehicle Operator License Insurance
- Researches and responds to requests for information regarding student transportation and related policies and procedures

- Subject to hazardous conditions of ice and snow while performing transportation duties
- Lifts or carries burdens up to 50 lbs., and pushes and/or pulls other burdens weighing 100 lbs.; may have to lift students when required
- Has visual capacity enabling safe operation of tools and machinery
- Distinguishes depth and objects in a wide field of vision
- Spends the majority of time sitting and may stand and walk while performing duties
- Conducts activities involving climbing, stooping, kneeling/bending, crouching/squatting, twisting, and reaching
