Senior Full Stack Web/Application Developer is a member of the district's Communication Department. You will focus on design and development of leading K-12 digital experiences and communication applications. You will also improve how tens of thousands of people access and interact with our digital properties, the way teachers and administration support our students and use data, as well as explore new technologies to meet better meet those needs. It’s a mission that takes some serious smarts, intense curiosity and determination.

  • Reports consistently for work as scheduled

  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Attains proficient or higher evaluations on established Performance Standards

  • Acts as an internal consultant, and mentor to developers with task-level leadership, guidance, and direction

  • Aligns digital communication strategy to district goals and objectives

  • Architects, implements and deploys systems on cloud infrastructure (e.g. Azure, Netlfiy)

  • Creates and maintain digital assets, such as interface design files, wireframes, and interactive mockups.

  • Creates and maintains technical documents, manuals and disaster recovery plans

  • Designs and develops back-end services using modern languages and frameworks (e.g. NodeJs)

  • Designs and develops front-end software languages and frameworks (e.g. HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Vue.js, Angular)

  • Designs and develops SQL (e.g. Postgres) databases

  • Develops and maintains CI / CD pipelines (e.g. Terraform, Github Actions, Azure Pipeline Services)

  • Develops and maintains systems-level programs and scripts (e.g. Bash/Shell, PowerShell)

  • Expertise in design and implementation of GraphQL and REST APIs

  • Leads efforts in code accuracy and quality, while ensuring thorough documentation and knowledge sharing

  • Leverages multiple approaches and technologies for designing, developing, testing, debugging applications

  • Manages the entire lifecycle of solution development utilizing modern frameworks/libraries

  • Owns architecture, development and integration of applications and systems as part of new or ongoing projects

  • Partners with the district and school-level administration and supporting departments

  • Presents to internal teams and key stakeholders

  • Pursues operational excellence in all endeavors through continuous process improvements

  • Tracks, monitors and reports on effectiveness of digital communication across platforms

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

  • Ability to distill customer and organization needs into appropriate and sustainable technology solutions

  • Ability to identify and manage external vendor and contractor relationships and services.

  • Ability to manage simultaneous demands and set clear priorities

  • Driven to innovate and rapidly pick-up new technologies through research, investigation and prototyping

  • Experience driving coding quality through establishing coding standards

  • Expertise in Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), Test Driven Development (TDD)

  • Expertise in Docker (containers), Kubernetes, Terraform, Infrastructure as Code

  • Expertise in inclusive design, user experience and accessibility best practices

  • Expertise in User Interface/Interaction design, User Experience design

  • Expert-level knowledge of headless CMS concepts and JAMstack/static website technology (e.g. Netlify, Nuxt)

  • Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization techniques

  • Knowledge of user experience principles, philosophies, and methodologies

  • Knowledge of user research, persona development, wireframing and prototyping

  • Proficiency in designing interfaces and building interactive prototypes

  • Proven leadership of creating successful web applications Expert-level knowledge of core web technologies (e.g. HTTP, Web Platform APIs, OAuth/OpenId, WebSockets, WebAssembly)

  • Strong understanding of visual design principles

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or two or more years (48 semester hours or more of college with no degree)

  • 3-5 Years Experience with Website Development

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's (Baccalaureate) degree (e.g., B.A., A.B., B.S.) in Web Design

  • Some Experience working within a marketing/communication/advertising/communication department

Compensation Range:

$85,588-$95,588

(Based on job relevant experience at 100% FTE)
