SPED Paraprofessional Significant Support
- High school education/GED equivalent
- Experience working with special needs students (K-5 preferred)
- Ability to work with students, other paras, and teachers
- Ability to work with students in small groups and one-on-one
- Ability to work as a team
- Willing to learn and follow special education procedures
- Able to carry out individual behavior management plans
- Able to conduct activities involving climbing, stooping, kneeling/bending, crouching, crawling, twisting, and reaching
- Willing to interact with children at desks, on floor, in classroom
- Able to lift 50 lbs. each in a two person lift. May have to lift students when assistance is required
- Able to assist in meeting physical and self-help needs of students (toileting, feeding, dressing, transferring)
- Must possess or be willing to obtain and renew/maintain CPR, First Aid and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training
- Willing to be trained to carry out delegated nursing practices

All custodial positions require the ability to lift 50 pounds and to push/pull burdens up to 100 pounds.
All special education positions require the ability to safely lift 50 pounds each in a two person lift.
