Designs, administers, and maintains the Academy District 20 server environment and network; covers duties and responsibilities of other members of the IT Infrastructure Services team as assigned.

  • Reports consistently for work as scheduled

  • Attains proficient or higher evaluations on established Performance Standards

  • Keeps current of new technological trends on hardware and software products; datacenter, cloud and hybrid cloud technologies.

  • Maintains a thorough documentation process of pertinent datacenter, server and network designs, configurations, and processes

  • Maintains thorough documentation on the district’s fiber optic wide area network

  • Monitors network and sever health and performance.

  • Participates in training activities to further the depth of knowledge in all areas of responsibility

  • Performs administrative duties and perform duties on the following systems; VMWare Hosts, Windows Servers, E-mail Servers (Local Exchange systems); Network Switches and Routers, Internet Filters; MDM Servers; VPN/Remote Access Systems; Systems Management Appliances; Print Servers; School Specific Server Software

  • Provides support and works with district IT staff to ensure user’s needs are being addressed in an efficient and professional manner

  • Responds to help desk tickets related to but not limited to, network issues, operating systems management, mobile device management, printers/printing, and other system issues

  • Serves as an effective team member of the Information Technology Department

  • Knowledge of and experience with Windows Server 2012 (R2), 2016 and 2019

  • Knowledge of how technology supports learning

  • Knowledge, experience, and skill in Embedded OSes/Systems, Palo Alto Firewall, Palo Alto Global Protect VPN systems and VMWare SorkSpaceOne MDM preferred.

  • Knowledge, experience, and skill in Network Management: SNMP, SSH, FTP, LDAP, AD, and various Network Management Applications

  • Knowledge, experience, and skill in Network Protocols: TCP/IP including IPv4 and IPv6, DNS, DHCP, SSL

  • Knowledge, experience, and skill in Network Security: Firewalls, VPNs, Wireless Security Protocols

  • Knowledge, experience, and skill in Programming Languages: Powershell

  • Knowledge, experience, and skill in the operation, configuration, troubleshooting, and repair of computer equipment, technical devices, and related software

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, written, listening, and verbal communication skills

  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training as required

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s (Baccalaureate) degree (e.g., B.A., A.B., B.S.) in Computer and Information Science

  • Some Experience with Software Distribution and Inventory Management systems

  • Some Experience with Mobile Device Management systems

  • 3-5 Years Experience as a Windows-Based System Administrator

Compensation Range:

$64,000-$74,000

(Based on job relevant experience at 100% FTE)
