Supports the principal and classroom teachers by encouraging a positive learning environment through the use of technology in the labs and throughout the building; maintains all building computers in working condition to provide opportunities for supervised student use of the computer labs; organizes teacher and class use of the computer labs

  • Reports consistently for work as scheduled

  • Assists individual students in performing activities under the direction of a teacher
  • Assists staff in the operation of computer equipment and computer labs
  • Assists with equipment ordering, budget preparation, and ordering of supplies and materials
  • Assists/coordinates preventative maintenance for building computers, networks, printers, and other related equipment
  • Assists/maintains current inventories of computer hardware
  • Attends pre-job training, ongoing training, and meetings as required during the school year in order to remain up-to-date on job procedures
  • Coordinates repair for computer equipment
  • Creates and carries out instructional programs and lessons under the direction of a teacher
  • Develops and implements teaching aids
  • Evaluates and distributes software to the faculty and students
  • Evaluates equipment and assists in recommendations of purchases
  • Maintains records necessary for effective operation of program, including monitoring expenses and the annual inventory of all materials and equipment
  • Maintains, orders, and organizes inventory of materials in an effective manner
  • Operates the network system in the building
  • Organizes and maintains all computer equipment for staff and students
  • Performs basic software and hardware installations
  • Performs miscellaneous clerical duties and assists other staff members
  • Performs operational support of technical equipment
  • Plans and implements methods of computer lab use
  • Proctors test-taking when requested by teacher
  • Provides individual tutoring for students and staff in computer skills and usage under the direction of a teacher
  • Provides information on the availability of programs for classroom use
  • Provides reference assistance to students and staff
  • Schedules and coordinates installations, maintenance, and repair of computer and networking equipment
  • Serves as an ad hoc member of the districtwide committees
  • Supervises computer labs/publishing center
  • Works with students in one-to-one/group situations under the direction of a teacher
