Job Description: Essential Position Functions

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:

  • Receives merchandise from commercial freight companies.
  • Inspects, counts, verifies product quality as specified by purchase order.
  • Assigns stock and bin location numbers to inventory items and stores products in appropriate location.
  • Pulls orders as detailed by stock tickets and loads trucks with orders by location.
  • Delivers orders to appropriate location and ensures correct product is delivered and signed for by receiving party.
  • Operates equipment i.e. trucks, forklifts and other distributing equipment in a safe manner.
  • Maintains inventory of stocked materials and supplies annually.
  • Processes and inputs data entry for merchandise ordered/stocked.
  • Maintains records and reports on inventory/equipment and the status of current projects.
  • Coordinates inventory, schedules chair and table usage in the district and oversees the delivery for various school functions.
  • Performs routine word processing activities related to departmental functions.
  • Delivers and picks up ordered materials/supplies, furniture from each school as needed.
  • Picks up print orders from the Print Shop and delivers the completed print order to each school daily.
  • Picks up science kits from the Science Center and delivers the science kits to each school as required.
  • Picks up shredding from schools, prepares it for pick-up by shredding contractor as required.
  • Picks up surplus property, distributes to schools when requested, advertises district surplus using online auction, accounts for and records the disposal of district wide surplus property.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

Knowledge of record keeping and filing techniques.

Knowledge of computer equipment and related software utilized within the office.

Knowledge of major roads and locations of schools within the district

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors and fellow workers

Ability to work independently without direct supervision

Ability to operate forklift and other warehouse equipment

Licensed automobile driver with ability to drive large trucks

Ability to plan, coordinate and research a variety of problem-solving and fact-finding projects.

Additional Information:

New Applicants: Please note that if you are hired by District 20, fingerprinting is required. You will be responsible for the fingerprinting charge at the Colorado Springs Police Department as well as for the FBI charge.


All custodial positions require the ability to lift 50 pounds and to push/pull burdens up to 100 pounds.


All special education positions require the ability to safely lift 50 pounds each in a two person lift.
